Also planned Virtual classes and online courses for Pan India aspirants preparing for exam under Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2013

JBS Academy has conceptualized Customized courses to enable candidates to prepare for written examination for Issuance of license to act as a Customs Broker under Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2013. Over the last 7 years many candidates have taken the advantage of this course and cleared the CBLR examination. This year the batch is planned in 1st week of December 2017 starting from 6th December.

For the current year preparations too, there are carefully structured self-study programs where students will be given study material, recorded lectures and books. Pre-recorded lectures and videos will be made available. A book covering last year’s question papers, syllabus, do’s and don’t’s while preparing for exams have been laid threadbare. There will be model question papers to solve.

Academy has also conceptualized a virtual class room based preparatory course. The course entails an online video course, which covers the entire syllabus in a total of 32 modules, over total time duration of 12 hours. Additionally, real classroom lectures will be conducted by industry experts with over 25 years of experience. All of these instructors are Custom house agents or licensed Customs Broker, and have mentored more than 100 students in their career. Weekend batches are also available along with weekday batches, keeping in mind the requirements of working candidates, who can only dedicate so many hours to study.

“Careful handholding ensures students are exposed to the latest course materials and practical experiences. Elaborate mock tests will be conducted and support will be provided for the rest of the courses. This is a comprehensive program with weekday/weekend batches available. For Virtual course, examinations will be conducted online. Faculty members will correct answer scripts and suggest alternatives/additions or suggest a correct way of writing an answer for Regulation 6 Examination. We intend to set benchmarks among Customs Broker and deliver skilled hands,” said Samir J. Shah, Chief Mentor and Director, JBS Academy.

Virtual classroom teaching will be provided, both on weekdays and weekends with subjects being taught by industry experts. Thirdly, there will also be classroom- based workshop programs for in Ahmedabad.

JBS Academy in Ahmedabad has been one of the forerunners to ensure availability of skilled personnel to meet industry expectations. This is especially crucial at a time estimates suggest, there will be a shortage of about 0.10 to 0.28 million qualified manpower in the maritime industry over the next decade in the marine transport industry.

On a macro scale, the move is in tandem with a rapid growth in trade. Apart from quantity, the industry requires highly qualified manpower to effectively manoeuvre heterogeneous trading laws of respective countries and handle differing transportation modes.
